He was pretty roundly disrespected by TNT, but I don't believe his dunk was so impressive that he ought to have advanced over Howard or Nate. It was a better dunk than he got credit for, I'll give you that.

The issue is that Iguodala got a 50 for doing it with 2 hands a few years ago, and it should be even harder with one hand. However, Fernandez did use a lot of tries, and that took away from the effect. Still, aren't previous attempts not supposed to count?

Igoudala's still seems more impressive though because he was approaching the backboard from a more perpendicular angle than Rudy, who was approaching almost parallel. Plus, Iggy had to duck his head under the backboard which added more of a WOW effect. I still think Rudy would have gotten a 50 or close too if he pulled it off the first time though. After 10 or so tries, it loses its impact.

Most impressive thing about the dunk contest?.....JR bringing Sonny Weems? lol I liked how Kenny Smith was all over that :mrgreen:
